The Field Trip is the second day of the Comprehensive Photography Workshop. It is a day of 'driving lessons' for you and your camera. We'll put into practice all the things we covered during the Theory Class the day before.
For the morning session, we meet outside the Central Star Ferry Pier 7 at 6:25AM. Then we'll go to Tsim Sha Tsui on the first Star Ferry at 6:30 for some practical exercises and then breakfast at Starbucks. We'll return to Central on the Star Ferry at about 9:00AM and then get a taxi to the Botanical Gardens entrance at the beginning of Upper Albert Road. We'll finish at about 11:00AM in the zoo, and then walk down to Lan Kwai Fong.
Students who live on the Kowloon side of the harbour can meet the rest of the group at about 6:40AM near the TST clock tower after we get off the Star Ferry on the TST side.
For the afternoon session, we meet at 3:30PM in the lobby of the Island Shangri-La Hotel above Pacific Place, near the entrance to Hong Kong Park. The whole afternoon session will be spent in Hong Kong Park and we'll finish with night photography exercises until about 7:30PM (depending on the time of sunset) on a bridge over Garden Road near the Cheung Kong Centre.
From 11:30AM to 3:30PM we take a break because the quality of the daylight is no longer optimal for good outdoor photography. The students are free to go home and rest or to kill time in any other way they choose.
Please bring some insect repellant for the field trip. There are mosquitoes and other biting insects in the Botanical Gardens and in Hong Kong Park.
